In the last legislative session in 2013 the Texas lottery commission had "sun setted" and needed to be re-established. Well on April 23rd it actually failed with a vote of 65 to keep the commission and 82 to not keep it. This may sound amazing but it is not, there are not many Republican districts where the lottery is a campaign promise. And as GOP House Rep Sanford points out the lottery funds less than 3 days of Texas Education expenses.
The three Montgomery county Republican members Bell, Creighton, and Toth voted NO to sunset the Texas Lottery Commission.

November 5, 2013 Election
In September 2005 a Montgomery County $150M road bond passed 70% to 30%. The vote was 1655 for and 716 against.
Last November 2011 the Montgomery County Road Bond (Debt) Election failed 53% to 47%. The vote was 7632 to 6675 that the county voters did not want to go into more debt, even for roads.
This month 4 county commissioners plan to vote for a $15 million Bond(debt) ($6M for roads & $6M for airport runway), with no bond election, even though a majority voted no last November.
